Welcome
Pastoral Care Counseling focused on love extended to all since creation.

Welcome to Mercy Seat

Exodus 37.6 God made a mercy seat (propitiatory" - specifically an atoning sacrifice, Jesus, 1 Jn 4.10).

CHRIST HAS COME, CHRIST HAS DIED AND CHRIST WILL COME AGAIN.  He is the same yesterday, today and forever.

The LOGO PICTURE shown is a drawing by Rev. Sylvia Bell incorporating the concept of the Mercy Seat and the cross.  Exodus 37:6 NISB, (6) "He made a MERCY SEAT (propitiatory - specifically an atoning sacrifice) of pure gold, two and a half cubits (the length of the forearm from the elbow to the tip of the middle finger usually 18 inches/46 centimeters) long and one and a half cubits wide. (7) He made two cherubim (angels - from the lowest to highest rank as follows: angels, archangels, principalities, powers, virtues, dominions, thrones, cherubim, and seraphim) of gold; he made them of hammered work at the two ends of the MERCY SEAT; (8) one cherub at the one end and one cherub at the other end; he made the cherubim of one piece with the MERCY SEAT at the two ends. (9) The cherubim had their wings spread upward, covering the MERCY SEAT with their wings, with their faces toward each other; the faces of the cherubim were toward the MERCY SEAT and John 1 4. 10."

In MERCY SEAT'S logo, I have placed the cross on the MERCY SEAT symbolizing Jesus Christ, our atonement with seven (7) rays of light emanating from the cross.

"'And this is the judgment" (the critical moment), 'that the light is come into the world, and we loved the darkness rather than the light.'" (John 3:19)

We are in the Season of Lent which

echoes the 40 days Jesus sent fasting in

the desert enduring the temptations of

Satan.

-It also occurs 40 days leading up to

Easter.

-Maybe we fast, maybe we engage in

continual intercessory prayer, fasting

or giving.

-I recall a time of filling a little card with

pennies for every day of Lent and giving to the

Church.

-We observe the Season of Lent in many ways.

-Help us to be mindful of why we

observe Lent.

-We honor the suffering Jesus endured

for us.

-May our observances and our giving

be a joy to You as You watchfully look

upon on us to see if we are truly in

doing these things truly repentant.

-Help us have humble hearts as we

remember why we observe the Season

of Lent.

We pray in Jesus Name by the Power of

the Holy Spirit. Amen

Isaiah 58. “…  ‘Why have we fasted,’

They say, ‘and You have not seen?  Why

have we afflicted our souls, and You

take no notice?’  ‘In fact, in the day of

your fast you find pleasure, And exploit

all your laborers.  Indeed you fast for

strife and debate, And to strike with the

fist of wickedness.  You will not fast as

you do this day, To make your voice

heard on high.  Is it a fast that I have

chosen, A day for a man to afflict his

soul?  Is it a bow down his head like a

bulrush, And to spread out sackcloth

and ashes?  Would call this a fast, And

an acceptable day to the LORD?  ‘Is this

not the fast that I have chosen: To loose the bonds of wickedness, To undo the heavy burdens, To let the oppressed go free,

And that you break every yoke? …”

Matthew 4.1-11 “The Jesus was led by

the Spirit into the wilderness to be

tempted by the devil.  After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.  The

tempter came to him and said, If you

are the Son of God, …”

Our Mission

Our Vision

Mercy Pastoral Care Counseling was birth from a statement made reference counseling services Chaplain Elder Reverend Bell was alleged to have given to two individuals as their pastor.  She had knowledge of both individuals, but had never counseled either in any way other than perhaps their attendance in a worship service.  From these speculations, she realized a deep desire and need in the community of faith. Mercy Seat Church and Pastoral Care Counseling was conceived by counseling that took place by the Grace of God without hands on office intervention.

There are many seeking a deeper relationship with our Creator, God or a Higher Power.  They need someone who is willing to listen and provide an honest informed response.  In that respect, as MERCY SEAT counselor, We seek to enlighten, as well as, promote healing and healthy living.

Our Goals

Mercy Pastoral Care Counseling through the leading of the Holy Spirit desires to extend the liberty of the Gospel of Jesus Christ as set forth in scriptures, theology, experiences and doctrine.  We do not seek to present a one sided dialogue but an all inclusive dialogue spanning creation - past, present and future.  This dialogue which is available to all comes through communion with Creator, God or a Higher Power through the revelation.

Mercy Seat began meeting in Rev. Sylvia Bell's home on October 10, 2010.
